History of Regent Park:

The place has a rich history.  It is located in the neighborhood of downtown Toronto.  Interest in this region was redeveloped in the 1940s. It started as a public project which was being managed by the Toronto Community Housing.  The sector is bounded by Gerard Street, to the North, the River Street to its east, Parliament Street to its west and Shutter Street to the south.

Initially, Regent Park’s dwellings were entirely a social housing project which covered the 69 acres. The park was created after razing down Cabbage town but the name was retained and is used to refer to the sections that cover the upscale section of the housing project.

The Neighborhood/Community:

The Wyatt condos are developed in the revitalized Regent Park area and will allow buyers  to be part of the historical area including neighboring Bartholomew condos, One Park Place Condos, One Park Place Townhomes and One Cole Condos among others. The facility offers a number of options ranging from studio to 3 bed-roomed condos. Available also are 1 bedroom Condos with an open concept dining/living room, a kitchen with granite countertops. This means that anyone who manages to buy these units will have a private balcony from where he can enjoy evening or morning tea as he chooses.

The Regent Park area consists of multiethnic and multicultural groups of people, which include Asians, Africans and Caribbean. Even though the crime rate in this area was high in the 1970s and 1960s, several multibillion projects which were started in this area have considerably increased the income level of the residents and has made crime rate to drop significantly. No wonder that many multimillion dollar projects have been commissioned in the area in the past few years. Perhaps this can be attributed to plans that aimed at redeveloping the area and upgrading it to the mixed income level. Its proximity to downtown  has made  the area a high value  real estate and this is why Wyatt condos gives you a life time opportunity to own and be part of the Regent Park community at a much affordable price.
By 2006, the area had about 1145 black people, 365 Chinese, 815, South Asians and over 100 Latinos. However, the 2011 census showed that there were 105 Latin Americans, 325 Chinese, 495 South Americans and 565 blacks. As it can be noted, the number of the minority is declining. That is owing to the fact that the less endowed minority groups are being pushed out of the area and giving room to the middle income dwellers.

In fact, the median income of the residents has improved greatly from the initial $40,000 in the 2006 to about $49,999 in 2011. If compared with the median income in Ontario, it is clear that Regent Area is doing well and thus gives you a reason to buy Wyatt condos.

Why Wyatt Condominiums Are Ranked High:

When the revitalization of the Regent Park is completed in the next 15 years, it is expected that there will be a total of about 5,115 units on the 69 acre piece of land. These units will house over 12,500 people.  The construction of the Regent Park Wyatt Condos is part of the strategy to replace the 2,083 social housing units that exists in the Regent Park Toronto area. The condos are modern units fitted with energy efficient equipment. The physical infrastructure around the units has been improved on and is being used as a catalyst for economic and social change in the area.  Regent Park has also undergone a remarkable transition meaning that there are plenty of exciting opportunities to both old and new residents.

Also, you will get the leading Canadian retailers, Regent Park Aquatic Centre, Paintbox Bistro and a 6 acre Community Park. The region was honored by The International Journal of Neighborhood Renewal, which awarded it the best international Neighborhood Renewal program. This implies that whoever that will buy a condo in this place will not only enjoy the top amenities that have been constructed in the area as part of the revitalization program.
